National Food, Farming and Environment competition 2019

Win an activity filled weekend away for teachers and students in beautiful North Wales in the Vale of Clwyd - an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.

Drones - the farmers of the future?

The weekend experience will be Friday 28th June - Sunday 30th June 2019

You will live, learn and enjoy life on a real working commercial farm at Coleg Cambria Llysfasi, Ruthin, North Wales. Llysfasi is a land based college with departments in Agriculture, Agricultural Engineering, Animal Care and Forestry and Countryside Management. The college has 970 acres and is a working farm with dairy cows, sheep, beef cattle, crops, forestry and an animal management centre. The weekend prize will be for the schools that best answer the questions on the application form and the winning teams will be from 7 schools - 1 teacher and 3 students (14-16 year olds, KS4) from each school.

The weekend will be made up of fun and educational activities based on and around the college farm. You will experience milking cows, handling lambs, feeding calves, learning about the countryside, visiting the forest, looking around the animal centre and having a go at tractor driving and on the mini digger and much more. You will enjoy the experience of living on a farm.

Over the course of the weekend, the schools will compete in a number of tasks, with the winning school being crowned ‘Innovation School of the Year 2019 in food, farming and the environment’
